31Therefore I tell you: TAll sin and blasphemy will be forgiven to men; but blasphemy against the Spirit NO They will be forgiven. —MATHEW 12:31
ES2Series — THE HOLY SPIRIT, Part 2
There is a very great warning in the word of God.
17Therefore the sin of the young people was very great before Jehovah; for men despised the offerings of the Lord. […]
22But Eli was very old; and he heard of all that his children did with all Israel, and how they slept with women who kept watch at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
23And he said to them: Why do you do such things? Because I hear your evil actions from all this people.
24No, my children, because it is not a good report that I hear; for you make the people of Jehovah sin.
25If man sins against man, the judges will judge him; But if anyone sins against the Lord, who will pray for him? But they did not hear their father's voice, because Jehovah had resolved to put them to death.
27And a man of God came to Eli and said to him, Thus says the Lord: Did I not manifest myself clearly to your father's house, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's house? […]
31Behold, the days are coming when I will cut off your arm and the arm of your father's house, so that there will be no elder in your house.
32You will see your house humiliated, while God showers Israel with good things; and in no time will there be an old man in your house. […]
34And this will be a sign to you that will happen to your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas: both will die in one day. —1 SAMUEL 2:17, 22-25, 27, 31-32, 34
Despite the death sentence upon them, they did this:
4And he sent the people to Shiloh, and they brought from there the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, who dwelt between the cherubim; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas were there with the ark of the covenant of God. -1 SAMUEL 4:4
Is it possible that these men touched the ark of God when it was such a sacred object, and they knew the sinful condition they were in?
Their recklessness cost them their lives. (1 SAMUEL 4:17). When the Spirit of God departs, there is no light to discern good or evil.
Why didn't Eli pray for his sons to repent?
16If anyone sees his brother committing a sin other than death, he will ask, and God will give him life; This is for those who commit sin other than death. There is a sin of death, for which I do not say to ask. —1 JOHN 5:16-17
Examples continue—
31Therefore I say to you: All sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men; further blasphemy against the Spirit It will not be forgiven.
32Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, will not be forgiven, neither in this century nor in the one to come. —MATHEW 12:31-32
There are those who still have time (mercy) to repent of their evil path—
17All injustice is sin; but there is sin not of death. —1 JOHN 5:17
However, there is someone to intercede for, but for those who crossed the line by denying the essence of God—the Holy Spirit, Jesus himself advises not to waste time praying for them. Rejecting the Holy Spirit—my friends and brothers, it is a dangerous thing—very dangerous.
